The College of Applied Biology want to make it as straight forward as possible to apply for your upgrade to a Biologists in Training or a Registered Professional Biologist. There is an additional cost for an upgrade.
Please note that you do not have to complete another application form.
To upgrade to a Registered Professional Biologist you need to:
1. Write a letter requesting your upgrade.
2. Submit an updated C.V. listing work experience by month and year.
3. Submit a publication ensuring it fulfills the requirements as stated in the worksheet and Rules on requirements for professional reports.
4. If you have not done so as a B.I.T. member complete an Indictable Offence Declaration if you have not already submitted one
5. Using the on line reference form submit 3 letters of Reference to the office at least one of which should be from an R.P.Bio.
6. Include 2 cheques or send in your Visa or MasterCard number plus the date of expiration and 3 digit code on back of card for:
· upgrade fee $50.00
· R.P.Bio. dues and seal $350.00
To upgrade to a Biologist in Training you need to:
1. Write a letter requesting your upgrade.
2. Submit a copy of your transcripts which shows the date you obtained your degree and the program. Please submit course descriptions.
3. If you have not done so as a student member complete an Indictable Offence Declaration
4. Include 2 cheques or send in your Visa or MasterCard number plus the date of expiration and 3 digit code on back of card for:
· upgrade fee $40.00
· B.I.T. dues $100.00
