Accreditation Assessment for Post-Secondary Institutions in British Columbia - ABT

The following programs have been assessed by the College.  Students graduating from these programs will meet the academic standards for entry into the College as a Trainee(ABT) or Applied Biology Technician and do not need to submit course descriptions.  

The years that these programs were officially accredited are in brackets in the Accreditation Decision column (i.e. Accredited (2014)). Applicants that graduated from these programs prior to the year of accreditation and after May 2022 must include course descriptions with their applications.

 Natural Resources Training Group  Environmental Field Skills Certificate Program
 Conditions - must complete an additional 80 hours of training
 Accredited (2019 to May 2022)
 Natural Resources Training Group  Fisheries Field Skills Certificate Program
 Conditions - must complete an additional 120 hours of training, should include 1 module in GPS/Navigation
 Accredited (2019 May 2022)

Program Accreditation Renewal or Applying for Accreditation of a Program

  • Programs that have expired or are up for renewal can be done through an application here. Check the College's Credentialing Standard to see if there have been any changes to ABT/ABT in Training program since the program was last accredited.
