Webinar, 9:00 PM - 10:00 PM PDT

This is part of a new Wildfire and Climate Change Winter/Spring 2019 Webinar Series

Wildfire disasters like Fort McMurray and Kelowna provided unique opportunities to evaluate wildfire risk mitigations in a Canadian setting. Al will share results of his post-fire studies and provide insights into barriers and challenges to increased community risk reduction action - gained from his many years of work with Alberta/British Columbia communities and collaboration with international fire agencies.

• Al Westhaver, Firewise Environmental Consulting, Salmon Arm, BC

These webinars expand on the learnings from the 2018 Kootenay Wildfire and Climate Change conference. The topics include landscape and community scale wildfire risk reduction and climate change, and the examples span the province.

Anyone interested in wildfire risk reduction in BC will benefit from these webinars – natural resource and wildfire managers and practitioners; local government staff and elected officials; and keen community members.
