This is part of a the Wildfire and Climate Change Winter/Spring 2019 Webinar Series
Climate change is an important driver for land use planning. To plan for resilience and advance reconciliation efforts, the Skeena Region of the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development is partnering with First Nations on land use planning. These planning processes will explore new ways to contemplate alternative futures, develop adaptive planning mechanisms and set objectives that reflect our shared interest in resilient socio-ecological systems.
• Brian Kolman, Team Lead, Skeena Region Initiatives, Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development
These webinars expand on the learnings from the 2018 Kootenay Wildfire and Climate Change conference. The topics include landscape and community scale wildfire risk reduction and climate change, and the examples span the province. Anyone interested in wildfire risk reduction in BC will benefit from these webinars – natural resource and wildfire managers and practitioners; local government staff and elected officials; and keen community members.
