College seeking Lay members for statutory committees
The College is seeking Lay (public) members to fill vacancies on statutory committees. The Professional Governance Act stipulates that statutory committees must have a Lay member. In order to move towards compliance with the new Act, the College is proactively seeking Lay volunteers to join the following committees:
- Audit and Practice Review Committee
- Credentials Committee
- Investigations Committee
Prospective Lay committee members should demonstrate the following skills and personal attributes:
- High ethical standards, professionalism and integrity
- Ability to make difficult decisions
- Sound judgement
- Knowledge of regulatory and statutory processes
- Knowledge of natural resource management in BC
Additionally, Lay members of College committees must not be registrants of the College.
If you know someone who has the skills listed above and may be interested in contributing to the applied biology profession, encourage them to complete a volunteer application.
If you have any questions about statutory committees at the College, please contact the College office at [email protected].
