Online Conference Registration is Open: Register by March 15th for Early Bird Rates

The College of Applied Biology and the Association of Professional Biology will hold their annual conferences at the Westin Wall Centre in Richmond, April 5-6, 2018. A discount of $40 is offered if members register for both conferences. 

The College conference opens on Thursday evening with an evening social followed by the main event on April 6th. This year's theme is "Professional Reliance: Shaping the Future". 

Following the College AGM, Minister George Heyman will deliver the Opening Remarks and take questions. The College conference will include several interactive panel sessions:

  • How Biologists Get Into Trouble
  • Navigating Recent Changes in BC's Water Sustainability Act
  • Science Communication: What Can We Do Better?
  • Species at Risk Legislation and Current Status
  • Climate Change Adaptation
  • Professional Reliance: Shaping the Future

The College is very pleased to have Bob Joseph as our lunchtime keynote speaker. Bob is the founder Indigenous Corporate Training Inc. and has provided training on Indigenous relations since 1994. He has worked internationally for clients in the United States, Guatemala, Peru, and New Caledonia in the South Pacific. Bob additionally has worked as an associate professor at Royal Roads University. He has an educational background in Business Administration and International Trade. As an author and co-author, Bob has contributed to a number of resources relating to working with Indigenous Peoples. Bob Joseph is an Indigenous person, or more specifically a status Indian, and is a member of the Gwawaenuk Nation. The title for Bob's keynote presentation "Indigenous Relations for Biologists".
