Upcoming provincial webinars on updates to the provincial Riparian Areas Regulation (RAR)
The Riparian Areas Regulation (RAR) is a provincial directive to designated local governments, requiring bylaw/policy protection for streamside habitat when issuing permits for designated development. Amendments to the regulation will be coming into force on November 1, 2019. These amendments do not alter the delivery model or reporting standards of the RAR but rather focus on strengthening the professional reliance model and increasing ministry oversight. As partners in the delivery of the regulation, the ministry would like to provide an update to professionals on the content of the amendments. This session will be of interest to all professionals who act as Qualified Environmental Professionals (QEPs) under the RAR.
Three webinar sessions are planned:
- September 30, 2019 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm
- October 2, 2019 9:30 am -- 11:30 am
- October 3, 2019 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm
Each session will be approximately 90 minutes, with time for questions. Each session will be limited to 50 participants, more sessions will be added should there be additional demand.
To register please email Nicholas Schwetz, RAR Biologist with your preferred time: [email protected]. Call-in details will be forwarded in the week preceding the sessions.
