UPDATED: College posts update on the status of applied biology in BC
The College of Applied Biology is posting an updated report on the status of applied biology in BC dated March 17, 2021. The report has been updated to include draft languge regarding reserved practice and adds two appendices that supply further context on the applied biology profession. This report was originally submitted as part of discussion materials ahead of previous meetings with the BC Ministry of Attorney General and the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development.
The paper includes some examples, a risk matrix and diagram, and wording that gives an illustration of what reserved practice would look like under the PGA. As indicated in the Next Steps section of the paper, the College will continue to work with the Office of the Superintendent of Professional Governance and engage with natural resource regulators on the reserved practice definition for applied biology
Please contact the College office if you have any questions about the report or the path to establishment of reserved practice for applied biology by emailing [email protected].
