There were nearly 260 participants in the College's 2015 Conference & AGM held Friday, March 13 at the Radisson Hotel Vancouver Airport. The presentation and panel topics were wide-ranging and throught-provoking.  We're grateful to all of the presenters, volunteers, and participants who helped make the day a great success.

The 2015 conference featured presentations and panels exploring the changing roles of local governments and First Nations in the management of BC's natural resources, as well as an engaging session on science, policy advocacy, and decision-making. Members who attended the AGM that precedes the Conference will be eligible to claim to 2 CPD points and participation in the Conference will be valued at 7 points. An informal Meet & Greet was also held from 7-9pm on March 12  in conjunction with the Conference & AGM in the Richmond Room of the Radisson Vancouver Airport Hotel. 

Dr. Robert T. Lackey, professor of fisheries science and adjunct professor of political science at Oregon State University, and Dr. Justina Ray, President and Senior Scientist of the Wildlife Conservation Society Canada will deliver keynote addresses on science and policy. Other presenters and panelists included:

  • Jeff Green, MSc, RPBio, PBiol, Vice President, National Discipline Leader of Environmental Services Canada at Stantec Consulting Ltd. 

  • Susan Pinkus, RPBio, Senior Environmental Coordinator at BC Hydro, formerly Senior Scientist at Ecojustice

  • Josie Osborne, Mayor of the District of Tofino and former College member

  • Carrie Baron, PEng, Drainage and Environment Manager, City of Surrey

  • Brian Clark, RPBio, Environmental Advisor at Pacific NorthWest LNG

  • Chris Addison, RPBio, Director of Resource Management (Peace-Liard), BC Ministry of Forests, Lands, and Natural Resource Operations
